"(...) a well-defined bouquet with brambly red berry fruit, minerals, touches of seaweed and light incense aromas that develop fine intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin. This Pomerol is very well poised with perfectly judged acidity. Whilst not a match for Titans like the 1989 or 2010, this La Conseillante possesses nuance and sophistication, a precision that does justice to the name. It should be earlier-drinking that other vintages that I have tasted, though given the terroir and track record, (...)"

The history of Château la Conseillante began in 1735 when for love of her vineyard Catherine Conseillant decided to give it her name.

Colour, structure, tannin-balance, smoothness on the palate and long cellaring make the growths of la Conseillante extremly subtle wines.

Production : 70’000 bottles ;

Superficie : 12 ha ;

Age of the vines : 40 years;

Plantation density : 5'500 vines / ha;

Wine variety : 80% merlot, 20% cabernet franc;

Best vintages : 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2000, 1990, 1989, 1959, 1949.
