Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it gives up a myriad of softly spoken fresh berry, floral and fragrant earth notes, including crushed red and black currants, black raspberries and menthol notes with touches of cigar box, lavender, violets, smoked meats, black truffles and chargrill. Medium to full-bodied with a firm frame of very finely grained tannins and seamless freshness, the palate possesses an arresting quiet intensity of many tightly wound, subtle layers, finishing on a lingering mineral note.(...) "

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The history of Château Rauzan-Ségla is intimately connected with that of Rauzan-Gassies, its nearest neighbor, with which it was incorporated until the end of the 18th century.

In April 1994, the Chanel company became the new owners, and undertook a complete renovation of this magnificent property.

Showing refinement and breed and classified a second growth in 1855 immediatly after Château Mouton Rothschild, its wine provides incomparable satisfaction, not only with regard to the delicacy of its bouquet, but also its distinction and finesse and taste.

Plantation density : 6'600 to 1'000 vines/ha;

Best vintages : 2010, 2009, 2005, 1996, 1990, 1986, 1865;
