"By far the best fully mature Prieure-Lichine over the last 20 years, the dark garnet-colored 1990 has a very fragrant nose of spice box, Christmas fruitcake, cedar, tobacco, smoke, and jammy red as well as black currants flavors. The wine is medium-bodied, quite ripe, with low acidity, a lush expansiveness, and fine purity in its lusty, heady finish."

The château Prieuré Lichine has been the property of the Ballande groupe since 1999 under the leadership of two renowned winemakers: Michel Rolland and Stéphane Derenoncourt. Their ambition is to pursue a different approach in the vineyard by making the greatest use of the vine parcel's diversity. This allows Prieuré-Lichine to fully express the characteristics of its terroir with the elegance, finesse and style that is typical of the greatest Margaux wines.
