Palazzi 1997 - Tenuta di Trinoro

Tasting notes

Palazzi 1997 - Tenuta di Trinoro: "sweet black cherry and berry fruit backed up by toasty new oak, also had a level of volatile acidity that was at the limit of my tolerance. Volatile acidity can add complexity, and it is certainly one of the hallmarks of some of this century's greatest wines, but it is surprising to find this much volatile acidity in such a young wine. The 1997 Palazzi possesses loads of glycerin, a thick, chewy texture, and superb fruit. "

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

In 1991 Andrea Franchetti had his inspiration in Bordeaux and indeed his high density, low training vines are more reminiscent of Saint Emilion and Pomerol than the rest of Tuscany.

Upon their debut, Andrea’s wines instantly got the role of “cult wines, “ for the small quantity of wines initially produced, the extremely high quality and the successful exhibit. Trinoro now produces 80,000 bottles from 30 hectares of land. What is unique to this higher volume industry is the quality of his production.

In addition to Tenuta di Trinoro there is a second wine, Le Cupole di Trinoro, which is made from the barrels that aren't deemed to be of the exacting quality Franchetti requires for hig Grand Vin and which is priced much more accessibly.
