The 1996 Penfolds Bin 389 is deep red in colour.  The nose is expressive with all the hallmarks of a 'Baby Grange'; lovely inky blackberry, meaty, cedar, graphite aromas.  The palate is dense, generous, rich, sweet-fruit flavours, underlying malt oak and slinky, chocolaty tannins. This is a great vintage with incredible fruit power and energy.
