"Medium to dark ruby with an amber edge, this wine has an open-knit, ripe, rather port-like bouquet. Soft, flabby flavors have modest appeal, but the wine is quite loosely knit and diffuse in the finish."

Château Léoville was divided up in 1840 and the part which one belonged to the baron de Poyferré was purchased in 1920 by the Cuvelier family who own, among others, château Le Crock in Saint-Estèphe.

The wines of Château Léoville Poyferré show deep color, rich aromas and distinction.
