"(...) The strong citrus, chalk, and smoky cast typical for Hengst are present here, too, but the entire impression is not nearly as austere as that of its first-born twin, with a subtle creaminess of texture, and persistently luscious peach and wafting floral perfume following through the finish, where a hint of hazelnut adds a white Burgundy-like note. (...)"

Settled in Alsace, Domaine Josmeyer is founded in 1854 by Aloyse Meyer, a noted restaurateur and gourmet.

The vineyards account for 28 hectares of vines with various grape varieties as Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner, Muscat & Pinot Noir settled on 5 different terroirs.

Since 2000, the whole vineyard is run according to organic (certified AB in 2004) and biodynamic principles.
