"The 2016 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru was also showing very well indeed from bottle, revealing a lovely bouquet of wild berries, spicy forest floor, dark chocolate and wild rose. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and satiny, with an elegantly textural attack, a bright core of fruit and a bright line of animating acidity, concluding with a mineral finish. INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The domain was created in 1933 following the marriage of André Mugneret, from an old Vosne Romanée family, and Jeanne Gibourg in 1928. Their son, Dr Georges Mugneret, whose principal profession was as an opthalmist, purchased further vineyards using a label in his own name. 

There are few estates that capture the seductive power of Burgundian Pinot Noir as faithfully as does Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg in Vosne.
