"The 2016 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a gorgeous bouquet with perfumed mulberry and cranberry scents laced with rose petal, the new oak beautifully integrated. The palate is full of energy, tensile from the beginning, almost steely in terms of focus. There is a surfeit of gorgeous, if tightly wound black fruit, a slight confit note towards the finish and thrilling balance throughout. Outstanding, if not quite the most ethereal amongst an impressive flight of Grand Crus from the appellation. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

It was the great-grandfather of the current wine grower Stéphane Magnien who founded the family domaine.

The small (4.5 hectares) vineyard is located in the heart of the village of Morey Saint Denis.

For four generations, the vines have been carefully worked, with ploughing and without any weed control, the aim being to maximise the expression of terroirs.
