Tasting notes

"(...) . A similar colour to the Vargellas 1995 but slightly more opaque. The nose is markedly different with an intense liquorice, tobacco, and violet-scented bouquet with cooked meat becoming more dominant with aeration. The palate is full-bodied, very plump, Rubenesque with a velvety texture. Not as focused or as delineated as the 2000, but harmonious and smooth. A rather hedonistic Vinha Velha, lacking the complexity of ensuing releases but with certainly impressive depth and length. (...) "
