Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Crau 1999 - Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe

Tasting notes

"The elegant, restrained 1999 Vieux-Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape is a stylish effort. Dark ruby-colored, with a bouquet of sweet black fruit intertwined with mineral, licorice, and resin, it is layered, long, and deep, with bright acidity as well as firm tannin in the finish. Cellar it for several years and drink it over the following 12-15.  "

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

The Brunier family is legendary in its own right, having been rooted to the enigmatic plateau known as La Crau for over one hundred years. Indeed, for many, La Crau is Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s grandest cru.

The grapes from the younger vines—still over twenty years old—make up Vieux Télegraphe’s second label, “Télégramme.”
