The Chambolle La Combe d’Orveaux is from a small vineyard just above the Musigny vineyard.

This may be a 1er cru but one sense the intense power and depth of the neighbouring grand cru.

"An admirably discreet dollop of wood is present on the notably spicy and floral-infused aromas of high-toned red currant, cherry and exotic tea. There is less volume but notably more refinement to the finely detailed flavors that brim with minerality on the impressively long, complex and balanced finale. This is first-rate and should age well."

This domaine has existed since the end of the 18th century; however, the wines were sold to negociants until 1988, when Bruno Clavelier, after a distinguished career playing rugby for Dijon in the French first division, decided to estate-bottle all their wine.
