"This classic, backward, tannic St.-Julien is made in the style of the 1996 and 1986. The 2006 Ducru Beaucaillou possesses a dense purple color along with a sweet perfume of graphite, black raspberries, cassis, licorice, and subtle toasty oak.  (...)"

The vineyard, well named "des beaux caillous" (of the beautiful pebbles), lies on 50 ha of very lovely gravelly crests parallel to the Gironde.

The wine is looked after with meticulous and incessant care. Nothing is neglected to achieve the very hightest quality. Ducru-Beaucaillou is considered by many specialists to be the quintessential wine of Bordeaux, particularly of Médoc.
