"The 1987 white Hermitage is light bodied, and an excellent, round, ripe wine with an attractive honeyed, peachlike bouquet intertwined with the smell of spring flowers (acacias?). In the mouth, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, with beautiful clarity, impeccable cleanliness, and a long, rich finish. It is delicious. (...)"

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Since 1481 , the Chave family reigns over the vineyards of the Hermitage. The Jean-Louis Chave area covers 15 hectares in which Hermitage third white ( 20% Roussanne and Marsanne 80% ) .

The red comes from the hermitage best " neighborhoods " of Beaume , the Ermite , and reflects the strength of Bessards.

In the finest vintages, Chave produces tiny amounts of a superexpensive luxury cuvée Cathelin.
