Salzberg 2007 - Weingut Gernot and Heike Heinrich (case of 6 bot.)

Tasting notes

"Salzberg is the name of one of the oldest and best vineyard slopes in Gols, which faces southwest and is dominated by red gravel from the ice age mixed with fine-grained sandy-loam sediment.

We take advantage of this soil versatility with the varieties Blaufränkisch (50%), and Merlot (50%)."

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

According to Robert Parker, Heinrich produces "...some of Austria's most celebrated red wines." Produced by hand, from low yielding vineyards in Austria's warmer south, these are expressive and interesting red wines. In 2001 Heinrich was named "Winemaker of the Year" by Austria´s leading wine magazine, Falstaff.

The Salzberg is named after the southern slope vineyard site bearing the same name and that is situated above our winery.
