Darmagi 1983 - A. Gaja

Tasting notes

Darmagi means 'what a pity' in the Piedmont dialect and it said to be Giovanni Gaja's reaction to the arrival of Bordeaux varieties in Barbaresco.

Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, July 1988

"Stylish and firm. Tannic and young, but packed with fruit and kept firm by ample acidity. Aromas of red currant, cherry and cassis are joined by a smoky, meaty flavor. Tart and oaky on the finish, but the fruit lingers too. "
