Solaia 1987 - Marchesi Antinori:
Rather deep reddish-brown colour. Very complex aromatics. Bouquet of dried fruits, leather, barnyard and toast. Medium-bodied palate with a delicate understone of currants, black cherries, spices and vegatable aromas. Fairly long finish.

Solaia is from the sunniest part of the Tignanello hill, from the best grapes grown in the best vineyard.
Wine varieties 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.
