"This is a quintessentially elegant wine, with charm, sweet fruit, and a velvety texture. Tannin in the finish suggests it will last longer than expected. The color is a deep ruby, and the nose offers up sweet black cherries intermixed with a peppery, mineral character, subtle new oak, and well-integrated acidity and tannin. The finish is long and pure."

Château la Gaffelière lies in the middle of its 25 hectares, all in one piece, of which 22 hectares are planted in vines.

The wines from Château la Gaffelière are a deep, luminous ruby colour displaying a rich bouquet of complex aromas dominated by cassis and truffle.

Production : 90’000 bottles ;

Surface : 22 ha ;

Food match : red meat, game, ripe cheeses;

Maturity : 10 to 15 years, but in great vintage a lifetime!

Wine variety : 5% cabernet sauvignon, 65% merlot, 30% cabernet franc;

Best vintages : 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2003.
