Tasting notes

"The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, savory in the mouth with dried blood, rosemary and sage notes towards the finish. I like the depth here, the cohesion and length. It might not be the most flamboyant recent Giscours, however in the context of the vintage, this is certainly a commendable wine that is beginning to deliver on its promise.  "

The production of Chateau Giscours is close to 25,000 cases per year. There is a second wine, La Sirene de Giscours.

Today, a portion of their vineyards are farmed using biodynamic techniques. That is expected to increase over the next few years.

Plantation density : 8'300 vines / ha;

Age of the vines : 30 years;

Second wine : La Sirène de Giscours;

Wine variety : 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 5% cabernet franc;

Best vintages : 2010, 2009, 2005, 2000, 1978, 1975.
