"(...) Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a little coaxing before bursting from the glass with vibrant scents blackberry preserves, redcurrant jelly, mulberries and Black Forest cake, leading to an undercurrent of pencil lead, black truffles, cast-iron pan and charcoal with an emerging waft of violets. The elegantly crafted, medium-bodied palate dances with red and black fruits before bursting into earth and mineral sparks. It has a sturdy frame of firm, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long and savory.. (...)"

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Château les Carmes-Haut-Brion is situated like its neighbors, Châteaux Haut Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, on the famous Graves plateau on the outskirts of Bordeaux to the south-west in Pessac.

The vineyard covers 4.7 hectares and is enclosed by high walls. Well sheltered, the vines enjoy good insulation and excellent drainage.

Production : 21’600 bottles ;

Surface : 4 ha ;

Wine variety : 10% cabernet sauvignon, 50 % merlot, 40% cabernet franc;

Best vintages : 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2000, 1990, 1986.
