"Not surprisingly, one of the finest 1999s is the Cote Rotie Les Essartailles. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of sweet, smoky black fruits intermixed with notions of olives and new oak. It is medium-bodied and rich, with adequate acidity as well as a long finish. (...)"
