Made in a soft, seductive style, this remarkable wine is decidedly more approachable and easy to appreciate today than the Rabaja. Giacosa fans will have a great time discussing the merits of the Rabaja and the Asili in 2004, but to me they are virtually equally moving; Asili for its feminine gracefulness and Rabaja for its size and power. Bruno Giacosa cellars are in Nieve and he has just over 17 hectares of vines in Barbaresco and Barolo. He also buys in grapes from other growers.

Wines produced from owned vineyards are bottled under the label Azienda Agricola Falletto (di Bruno Giacosa), wines from bought grapes or from grapes from leased vineyards under the label Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa.

"Bruno Giacosa is unquestionably one of the greatest winemakers of our time. Producing word-class wines ofr a half-century, he has become known as the "genious of Neive", and deservedly so.
