Tasting notes

"The 1949 Salon that closed out this special flight had an exotic nose full of creamy apricot jam and root beer/sarsaparilla. Its flavours were drier, its acidity nice and its finish long. Cream soda flavours emerged out of its arid palate, but dryness was the theme in this wheaty and excellent wine.”

INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ESTATE

Salon makes only one wine: ‘Salon Cuvée S’,  a Blanc de Blancs, 100% Chardonnay.

Only 38 versions have been made since the first vintage in 1905, averaging under three per decade.

The average production, when it is made, is 60'000 bottles, though this can vary a good deal with the year.  Only 10 % of the production are bottled in magnum size.
