"The salmon-colored 1999 La Grande Annee Rose is a pretty Champagne that offers terrific balance in its expansive, sweet core of fruit and expressive aromatics. The warm, opulent quality of the vintage comes through in the wine's soft, caressing texture. As outstanding as this wine is, it doesn't quite have the complexity I had hoped for. That may come with further cellaring, only time will tell.(...)"

Founded in the 1829 in Ay, the larger than life, family-managed Bollinger champagne house has long been a favourite of high flyers and licensed-to-kill double-o agents.

Bollinger has a reputation for producing muscular champagnes with body, depth and power, and is today considered one of the "Great" Champagne houses. Vintages are produced only in exceptional years from grand and premier cru vineyards.
